Doug Nolan is the founder and owner of Rock Steady Juggling. He has performed professionally at schools, libraries, festivals and theaters for more than 25 years. He earned an MFA in acting from the American Conservatory Theater (2000) and a BA in environmental studies from the University of Vermont (1987). Doug's unique performance style combines his skills as a juggler, educator and actor. Favorite acting roles include the title role of MacBeth and 'Bottom' in A Midsummer Night's Dream as a core company member of the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company (2014-present). He co-founded the Boogie Down Jugglers (1990-1996) and has collaborated with Carnival of Chaos (2000-2005) and The Sippy Cups (2006-2012). He has also worked as a wilderness instructor and rock climbing specialist for the North Carolina Outward Bound School (1987-1991). He lives in Half Moon Bay and while not juggling or acting, Doug can be found surfing waves on his stand up paddle board.

D. Heartlife aka 'Hearty' performs with Doug Nolan in RSJ's conflict resolution assembly, 'We Can Work It Out!'. Heart and Doug have been friends and collaborators for more than 30 years. Together they founded the Boogie Down Jugglers (1990-1996). They performed their popular environmental education assembly program, 'The Greatest Show 4 Earth' all across the continent. In 1997 Heart teamed up with vocalist and actor, Lissin Lev Chaya to create EarthCapades Environmental Vaudeville. He has studied comedy with Dan Holzman (of the Raspyni Brothers) and acrobatics with the respected Chinese master, Mr. LuYi. Among other talents, Heart is a circus arts coach, massage therapist, web-master, tree hugger, sensational surfer and all around bald guy.
Lucy Juggles is a professional juggler based in the Bay Area. After working as a circus performer in Atlanta for 10 years, Lucy moved to the Bay to perform her one woman comedy juggling show at Pier 39 in San Francisco. In her show she rides unicycles, tells jokes, and plays with knives. Her show is a blend of technical skill, personal narrative, and extraordinary stunts. Lucy’s unique combination of storytelling and circus arts create a show that resonates with audiences of all ages. Her shows are about risk, growth, failure, resilience, and the important roles community and trust have in shaping our futures.
